About
Ikseon Aetteut serves Ikseon-dong's hanok lanes the dish Korea guards most jealously: ganjang-gejang, raw crab cured in soy — the 'rice thief' that visitors are always told about and rarely told where to try. This is a proper initiation venue: the crab arrives chilled, the ritual is taught by doing — crack the shell, spoon the custardy interior over hot rice, wrap in seaweed, repeat until the rice is gone and you order more. The dish is essentially unfindable outside Korea, which makes an Ikseon-dong table doing it well a genuine bucket-list stop rather than a tourist concession. Weekend demand fills the good gejang houses fast; Naver booking or a call ahead is the sensible move. Pair with the neighborhood wander the district demands — but eat the crab first, while your hands are still clean and your ambitions intact.
