Tucked into a standalone annex between the East and West KT Gwanghwamun buildings, Rudbeckia offers a botanical escape right beside Gwanghwamun Station. Conceived by chef Lee Jun of the two-Michelin-starred Soigné, the spacious venue blends the sensibilities of an airy European greenhouse with a casual, all-day dining format. Massive floor-to-ceiling windows look out onto lush greenery, while the sunlit interior is lined with potted plants, giving the glasshouse an organic warmth amidst Jongno’s dense corporate blocks. Operating from early morning through dinner, Rudbeckia functions seamlessly as both a specialty café and a full-fledged brunch destination. The culinary program features savory comfort dishes tailored for relaxed daytime meals. Standouts include the maple bacon frittata, an Italian-style baked omelet layered with rich savory-sweet notes, alongside a grilled shrimp and lemon garlic pasta. The kitchen rounds out its daytime and evening repertoire with hearty soups, French toast, sandwiches, and substantial plates such as steak, roast chicken, and beef bourguignon backed by a curated wine list. During the mid-afternoon hours, the kitchen pauses to offer exclusively drinks and bakery items. Visitors stop by the glass display for sweet finishes, pairing a fragrant vanilla bean latte with unique bakes like the tart, citrus-forward lime cake.
