About
A small, cozy Mangwon café near Donggyo Elementary School, known for milk patbingsu, warm wood-and-plant interiors, and a resident dog.
Tucked along the bustling school-front street opposite Donggyo Elementary, Gori is a compact, sunlit sanctuary in Mangwon-dong. The shop centers on a clean wood-and-white aesthetic, enlivened by leafy house plants, small design objects, and a resident dog who greets quiet afternoons. Large front-facing windows filter neighborhood light across just five two-person tables arranged on either side of the open counter, creating an unhurried, intimate nook suited for reading alone or slipping in as a pair. The defining draw here is the classic *uyu patbingsu* (milk red bean shaved ice), priced remarkably at just 10,000 won. Built on a mound of finely shaved milk snow and topped with sweet, cooked red beans, it arrives clean, uncomplicated, and deeply satisfying. Beyond shaved ice, the concise board includes comforting accompaniments like mango oolong tea, along with coffee, sandwiches, and small desserts. Because the shop is small, seating fills swiftly, and waitlists are managed by pen and paper by the door, where waiting guests might find an outdoor stool and a thoughtful glass of ice water handed out on hotter days. Gori welcomes companion animals, providing water and a pet bin near the entrance. Takeout is offered for general cafe items (though not for the bingsu), and during peak times when every seat is claimed
