콘하스 한남
About
Hannam-dong specialty coffee. Minimal design, great beans.
The house didn't move—콘하스 한남 closed. The brand relocated to Hyochang Park and other neighborhoods, leaving behind the magnolia tree that once turned a Hannam-dong side street into Seoul's most-photographed cafe terrace every March. For three weeks each spring, people queued on the second-floor landing to stand under a canopy of cream-and-yellow blooms, the outdoor pool below empty but camera-ready, dotted with picnic mats. Regulars called the magnolia blossoms "알새우칩"—shrimp chips—for their pale, curled-petal shape. The nickname stuck in comment threads and location tags until the cafe's final season. 콘하스 converted a three-story residential building into a sprawling operation: ground-floor terrace seating around the pool, interior rooms on each level, and that narrow outdoor staircase to the second floor where the magnolia leaned close enough to touch. Visitors grabbed outdoor spots if they could—prime real estate during bloom season—or climbed to the top for the overhead shot: magnolia crown, turquoise pool rim, someone posing on a mat. Staff carried drinks up and down. The house cat sometimes wandered into frame. Pastries baked at another location arrived each morning, often sold out by late afternoon. The dark-roast house blend, direct-roasted on-site, kept the regulars coming when the flowers dropped. Hannam location shuttered. Valet parking ended before that. If you're hunting magnolias and pool backdrops now, head to the Hyochang Park or Yeonnam branches—same aesthetic, different address. The original tree blooms for someone else.
Local tips
- Visit during late afternoon or evening in March to see magnolia blossoms with shorter waits—arrive after 5pm when crowds thin.
- Bring a light-colored outfit to complement the magnolia blooms for better photography; the flowers have a yellowish tint.
- The venue has relocated; Hannam location is now closed—visit Hyochang Park or other branch locations instead.
- Reserve outdoor seating on 2nd floor terrace early or plan for midweek visits to avoid long waits during peak bloom season.
- Note: Parking valet service ended; use nearby paid lots (Hangang-jin Station or Han Nam-dong public parking, ~10 min walk).
