About
Famous charcoal BBQ. One of Seoul's best galbi.
When the server arrives with the four-person portion of udae galbi on its bed of straw, already darkened from the straw fire, the show isn't over. They lift the marbled ribs onto the grill, searing them a second time until fat pools along the edges. First bite comes plain, plated for you without sauce—this is the house rule. The beef itself carries enough sweetness and char that the four condiments (garlic sauce, perilla pesto, yuzu blend, scallion threads) feel optional until the richness builds, then you need them. Grease splatter is aggressive here, so leave the nice coat at home. The staff handle all grilling, including the final ritual: when you wave off more meat, they scrape every scrap from the rib bones, grill it crisp, and deliver one last round. The 100-year-old Japanese colonial house feels lived-in rather than precious—high ceilings, constant foot traffic on the first floor, quieter upstairs until the 9pm close. Weekday afternoons between 3pm and 4pm see almost no line. Any other time, plan around the Catch Table kiosk inside the entrance—registration opens at 11am, no remote check-in allowed, and your entire party must arrive within ten minutes of the call. Weekends regularly hit 50-plus teams and three-hour waits; even Friday at 4:30pm can mean a short hold. If you're serious about the ₩32,000 udae galbi, calculate ten teams per thirty minutes and either commit to the wait or time your arrival for the dead zone. The onion fried rice, mixed with leftover beef scraps, consistently outperforms expectations. Corkage runs ₩20,000 per bottle, but house wine starts at ₩40,000, so do the math. Card only.
Local tips
- Register at Catch Table kiosk in-store only (11am onwards)—no app registration allowed. Arrive early afternoon (3-4pm weekdays) to minimize 2-3 hour waits.
- All party members must be present to enter; you'll receive 10-minute call notice after registration.
- Weekends can exceed 3-4 hour waits with 50+ teams—arrive by 3-4pm or visit weekday afternoons (post-lunch lull).
- Wear old clothes and shoes; grease splatters heavily. Don't order both Udae Galbi and Hanjeong Sal—one per visit is enough.
- Colkage fee ₩20,000/bottle; wine markup is reasonable. Staff grill all meat for you—just sit back and enjoy.
